Such simplicity! "The Germans are Assyria"! LOL!
German speaking people are found from Holland to the Ukraine, Czechoslovakia, Poland, Lithuania, France, and more.
In the middle ages, Germany was a disjointed bunch of 100s of little vassal states. Each of them have their own peculiar history and status.
Germans themselves speak of such things as "high Germans" and "Low Germans". The Lussenheides are "low Germans", who tend to be darker, and rural. Germans run a gamut that is almost as diverse as the American landscape. There are dialects and obvious ethnic differences amongst German speakers, and to lump them all together as "Assyrians" is silly.
The idea of "Assyrians" for modern Germany is almost as bad as the British Israel ideas, and are based on arguments and bridges that are weaker than the argument for evolution! Broad brush strokes of weak history, with convenient gaps filled in! Unanswered questions, and a reliance on questionable historical sources.
If one is to make such a claim, (Assyria is Germany), then his best bet is to make a claim that the "Prussians" are Assyria.
There is no doubt in my mind that us Hineys from Osnabruck, Westphalia, and Wilhelmshaven are not Assyrians. Same can be said of those from Lorraine and many other areas of Germany.
