Open letter to an anonymous member of the "WCG"

Recently, I received an anonymous Email from a man who signed off as "A member of the WCG [Worldwide Church of God]. He signed his letter as "A member of the WCG in Christ."

His letter reveals a fascinating insight into the mind set of hundreds, if not thousands, of those who have remained in an organization which has rejected virtually everything my father, the late Herbert W. Armstrong and I, together with hundreds of the ministry, and the original pioneers of Ambassador College, ever taught. Here are major excerpts from his letter, and my detailed responses:

"Dear Mr. Armstrong (dated January 7, 2002),

"Please understand why I am writing anonymously. Though I have met you, you probably would not remember me and I truly don’t care one way or the other. I have nothing to hide at all [except his identity, obviously], my reasons for anonymity are because I don’t want anyone to think I am seeking some kind of glory, and because I don’t want to be put out of the WCG..."

COMMENT: This is an interesting mind set. I have seen it and heard it for more than 24 years now. This gentleman obviously equates being "put out of the WCG" with losing salvation! Study John’s ninth chapter. It is the account of how Christ healed a blind man who had been blind from birth. When Christ healed the man, he was sternly interrogated by the Pharisees. No joy was shown; no account of how the man must have been astonished at seeing, for the first time, other human beings; the sky and the clouds, the buildings, trees and animals. No praise or thanksgiving. Instead, jealousy, suspicion, and resentment. After sternly questioning the formerly blind man, they took him to his parents.

His parents were so fearful there is not one word said of the tears of joy and thanksgiving which should have been shed at the joyous reunion. Not one word about how the formerly blind man must have said, "Father, is that YOU? Mother is that YOU?" He had never seen his own parents before. Perhaps they had, when he was but a baby, allowed his little hands to feel their faces as they spoke to him, and described themselves to him. Perhaps they had described to him the difference between daylight and darkness; the colors he could not see, people, trees, birds, donkeys, camels and horses. Perhaps they had taken him up in their arms, and as they told him he was about to feel a camel, allow him to stroke the beast’s hairy back.

Now, he was seeing! Now, a great MIRACLE had occurred!

But there was no rejoicing! Instead, look what happened: "But the Jews did not believe concerning him, that he had been blind, and received his sight, until they called the parents of him that had received his sight.

"And they asked them, saying, Is this your son, who ye say was born blind? how then doth he now see?

"His parents answered them and said, We know that this is our son, and that he was born blind:

"But by what means he now seeth, we know not; or who hath opened his eyes, we know not: he is of age; ask him: he shall speak for himself" [What an INCREDIBLE story! The hold over these people’s minds by corrupt leaders is simply mind boggling!].

"These words spake his parents, because they feared the Jews: for the Jews had agreed already, that if any man did confess that he was Christ, he should be put out of the synagogue.

"Therefore said his parents, He is of age; ask him" (John 9:18-23).

Study this entire episode. It is in your Bible for a purpose, and that purpose is obviously the mental, emotional, spiritual and economic HOLD the Pharisees had established over their adherents. It gives graphic and painful insight into the mind set of the parents; of their fear of corrupt leaders; their fear of "being put out."

Then, notice Isaiah’s prophecy concerning this very thing: "Hear the word of the LORD, ye that tremble at his word; Your brethren that hated you, that cast you out for my name's sake, said, Let the LORD be glorified: but he shall appear to your joy, and they shall be ashamed" (Isaiah 66:5).

You see, the parents of the blind man believed their very salvation depended upon "staying in the church" no matter what the leaders did; no matter how evil they became. Their mantra was "Let God take care of it." As if they had a choice? God will do what God will do, and man neither "lets" God do anything or prevents Him from doing anything. History proves that millions of Jews remained in their synagogues; rejected Christ, and still reject Him as the Messiah today! Their mantra "stay with the body," and "let God work it out" resulted in centuries and centuries of horrifying persecutions.

His anonymous letter continued:

"I attended a Feast of Tabernacles site (which we have been instructed to call ‘A Festival of Grace Celebration’) of the Worldwide Church of God, (or at least what is left of it!)...most of us that attended...[location and number attending deleted here, for his own protection] are part of those who have not accepted all the liberal changes in the church today. We keep the feast on the correct days and for the entire eight days as your father showed us from the Bible. We believe the Bible only and though Pasadena Headquarters (which apparently they don’t want to be called anymore???) has allowed this feast site...Your name came up in conversation several times during the feast! I know that when you left WCG and started your own church most of us pretty much forgot about you."

COMMENT: I never "started my own church." I made it very clear from the very beginning that I was a member of the body of Christ, the spiritual organism that is the church; that I was only forming a corporation, composed of others who also remained a member of Christ’s body, joined to Him by the Holy Spirit. This common assumption is false. It is impossible for any man to "start" or form the true church of God. It IS possible, however, for members of the spiritual body of Christ to form organizations and corporations for the purpose of preaching the good news of the coming Kingdom of God to the world. It is possible for members of the body of Christ to band together to DO A WORK!

"...you were out of the picture and no longer in line for the leadership of the church, so for many years we’ve hardly spoken of you. Yet at the Feast you were being spoken of! Don’t you find that strange?"

COMMENT: Not in the least. I know that many thousands of people are sitting on a very uncomfortable fence, "waiting to see what will happen." I would guess they also talk of the men who started various other organizations, continually wondering, guessing, speculating. I am reminded of how God told Ezekiel: "Also, thou son of man, the children of thy people still are talking against [about] thee by the walls and in the doors of the houses, and speak one to another, every one to his brother, saying, Come, I pray you, and hear what is the word that cometh forth from the LORD.

"And they come unto thee as the people cometh, and they sit before thee as my people, and they hear thy words, but they will not do them: for with their mouth they show much love, but their heart goeth after their covetousness.

"And, lo, thou art unto them as a very lovely song of one that hath a pleasant voice, and can play well on an instrument: for they hear thy words, but they do them not.

"And when this cometh to pass, (lo, it will come,) then shall they know that a prophet hath been among them" (Ezekiel 33:30-33).

The anonymous gentleman then wrote, "We that still hold the Bible truths as taught by your father and have many times discussed the strange course the WCG is taking (sic). It hasn’t made sense to us, but we’ve remained loyal because this is the church God called us to."

COMMENT: No, God called you to His true church, which is a spiritual organism, and not any man-made organization. If you repented, and were baptized, and received the Holy Spirit of God by the laying on of hands, God PUT YOU INTO the spiritual body of Christ. He did not call you to a physical organization, but He called you to become His own begotten child! Notice! "And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter [Greek: "Petros", meaning a little pebble or stone] and upon this rock [Greek: "Petra," meaning a huge monolith. Christ is the ROCK (Deuteronomy 32, I Corinthians 10:4) upon which the church is built] I will build my church ["Ekklezia"]; and the gates of hell ["hades", the grave] shall not prevail against it" (Matthew 16:18). The word "Ekklezia" in the Greek language means "a calling out; a popular meeting; a religious congregation; assembly." It does NOT mean a building, or a political or man-made institution. It means a group of "called out ones" who are individually joined to Christ. Jesus Christ said, "I am the true vine [Not Peter], and my Father is the husbandman.

"Every branch [so there are BRANCHES attached to the true Vine!] in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.

"Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you.

"Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.

"I am the vine, ye are the branches [PLURAL!]: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.

"If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned" (John 15:1-6). Each sovereign individual is JOINED DIRECTLY TO CHRIST when converted. He is not joined to a human leader! There is no lateral or bilateral connection to Christ, but a DIRECT connection. There is no human priest! Christ is our High Priest. We can go to HIM without permission from any human being! Our fealty is toward HIM far above that of any man, or any man-made organization!

God’s true Church is a spiritual organism, not a man-made, political organization. His true church does not depend upon a piece of paper in a file in the Secretary of State’s office in Sacramento, California, or Austin, Texas!

The gentleman has confused the meaning of the word "church." He was not called to an organization, but to Christ! Notice, "And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this untoward generation.

"Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls" (Acts 2:40,41). Notice how Luke did NOT say that "three thousand people joined the church." No, The Holy Spirit ADDED them to the church, meaning to the "group of called-out ones."

There was no building they owned. They came from more than a dozen different countries, and, following that miraculous weekend, returned to their homes. They could not, in many cases, even converse with one another, since they spoke different dialects and languages.

They did not form a "corporation." They did not receive "credentials," or "place their letter" in the church!

Notice further: "And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house [margin: "at home"], did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart,

"Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved" (Acts 2:46,47). Never forget the meaning of the word "ekklezia." It means "called out ones," or an "assembly of people." It is synonymous with "group," and does NOT mean a building, a corporation, or a political organization!

The gentleman, who is very sincere and well-intentioned, has confused in his mind, as have millions of others, the very meaning of the word "church." To him, if one is not a "member" of the organization which is called the "Worldwide Church of God" then one is not in the "true church."

Now, notice the next surprising statement:

"He [God] had a special purpose for allowing error to creep into His church but we couldn’t see it for some time. It’s becoming clear now that this has been a test. And just as Elijah once begged God to take away his life because he was the only one obedient to God and God told him he had seven thousand that had not bent the knee to Baal, so there is a small group in the WCG that have not left their first love. Rather this test has made us stronger in our beliefs; more determined to follow God and his word; more certain that God has not left us even though the ministry has gone astray."

COMMENT: This gentleman struggles with an illogical, puzzling occurrence. How could God have allowed the church to which he belongs (speaking of the corporation at this moment) go so completely awry? For decades, he has believed there is only ONE TRUE CHURCH! To him, the organization called the WCG is it! Yet, he says its leaders are "running this ship into the ground," and does not see the floating lifeboats bobbing alongside. He prefers to go down with the ship, under the command of a captain he no longer trusts. This causes a major conflict in his mind. He reasons that, since the church to which he belongs is the "one and only true church," and yet its ministry has "gone astray," then God MUST HAVE HAD A PURPOSE IN ALLOWING such to happen.

But what is ALLOWED of God is rarely INTENDED of God!

God ALLOWED those vicious, murdering terrorists to crash those airplanes into the twin trade towers and the Pentagon. But God DID NOT HAVE A PURPOSE for them to do it! Neither did God PURPOSELY allow apostates to take over, and destroy everything my father and I, and dozens of others of the original "pioneers" in the church, built up. This mind set says that God somehow engineered the whole thing; that he had a PURPOSE in mind, just to TEST these remaining loyal ones! Isn’t there testing enough in battling Satan, the world, and our own human natures, without laying at God’s feet the responsibility for doing the exact opposite of what He clearly wants for His church? The major thrust of most New Testament literature is to KEEP THE CHURCH FREE FROM FALSE TEACHERS AND FALSE DOCTRINE. Paul, Steven, James, Peter, and John all gave their lives for this goal! Paul decried the "mystery of iniquity [lawlessness] that was at work" during his day. He did not justify it by telling the Thessalonians that God "had a special purpose" for the Babylonian mystery religion to gradually take over the members of the church! The gentleman is PARTLY correct. God DID ALLOW a great falling away from the truth to occur. But it was not in His intent! The shattered lives, the divorces filed, the suicides committed, the horrible financial loss, the dismantlement of colleges, schools, festival sites and summer camp; the confusion, chaos, disarray and painful disequilibrium that ensued was NOT A TEST FROM GOD! God did not engineer it. He did not intend it. He does not approve of it! He HAS NOT BLESSED it!

Further, the seven thousand in Israel were not clandestine members of God’s called-out ones, or His true church. They were citizens of a political state, under the authority of a corrupt king, who had adopted Baal worship. I am gratified, however, to see that this gentleman, and, hopefully hundreds or even thousands of others like him, have "not left their first love."

Here are more excerpts from his sincere letter:

"Some of us have compared statement(s) of beliefs of many of the ‘splinter groups’ from the WCG, including your own and we have found that many, if not most, still hold fast to the basic doctrines taught by your father directly from the Bible. And so do we hold to them even though the WCG has, to quote the front of Mr [deleted] book...'rejected the teachings of founder, Herbert W. Armstrong and embraces historic Christianity.’ He is wrong, for there is a group that are STILL a part of the church and we have NOT rejected Mr. Armstrong nor his teachings. And neither have you, according to your statement of beliefs (Though I’m sure when you found your father’s teachings incorrect, you have abandoned them. He was still learning too)."

COMMENT: I find this admission intriguing. The gentleman admits that my father made some mistakes. However, the vast majority of his teachings, especially those concerning the nature of God, the nature of man, the way to salvation, and such things as the Sabbath, the Holy Days, the Pagan holidays, and his rejection of the doctrine of the trinity, were right on the mark. The major, and most harmful error was his adoption, at great age, of a doctrine he had earnestly preached and written against for most of his life, the "Peter Primacy" concept, as set forth by the Catholic Church. He adopted this to justify the "One man rule" over the church, and people’s personal lives and choices.

But only a few scriptures (there are many more) are sufficient to disprove the concept of Peter as the "Chief Apostle." Notice, "Now when the apostles [plural!] which were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent unto them Peter and John [Peter was SENT by the other apostles. He did not do the sending!]:

"Who, when they were come down, prayed for them, that they might receive the Holy Spirit:

"(For as yet he was fallen upon none of them: only they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.)" (Acts 8:14-17). Clearly, the body of the apostles, which included Christ’s brother, James, SENT Peter and John. It is without a doubt that Peter was a leader. He was bombastic, forward, energetic. But he was not the "chief apostle," and He most certainly was NOT the "first pope!"

Paul wrote, "For I suppose I was not a whit behind the very chiefest apostles" (2 Corinthians 11:5). The "very chiefest [PLURAL] apostles proves there were several who were admired as "chiefest." Perhaps they were James, Peter, and John. But Peter was not "Chief!"

Paul also said, "I am become a fool in glorying; ye have compelled me: for I ought to have been commended of you: for in nothing am I behind the very chiefest apostles, though I be nothing" (2 Corinthians 12:11).

I am surprised that the gentleman who wrote to me anonymously recognized that my father made doctrinal mistakes. At least, he, unlike some others, has not tried to make an idol of my father, and act as if his every utterance were inspired. My father never claimed such for himself, and admitted many times his own frailties and human failings. My father, in many ways, was a great man. But like all great men, he had equally offsetting flaws and failings. He said so himself, many times.

More from our anonymous friend:

"The leadership in Pasadena seems to be running this ship into the ground. And they also seem about to jump overboard! The local congregations have been told to fend for themselves starting next year! [this must have been written in 2001] It seems that Headquarters will all but vanish soon and each church will be left to its own devices (and therefore its own teaching!) The WCG has sold the Texas campus, will sell or lose the Pasadena campus, is selling SEP [A Summer camp I was very instrumental in building] in Orr [Minnesota], has made the Plain Truth a separate entity that is failing, has lost thousands of members and is financially on a downward spiral."

COMMENT: There has never been anything comparable in history to the tragic demise of the Worldwide Church of God, Ambassador University, (Colleges), Imperial Schools and the "Summer Educational Program" at Orr. Those facilities represent the blood, sweat, tears and sacrifices of millions of people the world over; represent decades of planning, and generations of members, their children and grandchildren. The gentleman’s lamentation over such overwhelming loss is equally felt. Those of us whose lives were inextricably interwoven with those marvelous facilities; who, as young men, worked on the grounds, saw the gradual acquisition of properties, buildings constructed, and who lived and worked there feel unutterable sadness and loss.

He continued: "Yet I believe that God’s elect will re-unite one day and I also believe there are some in the current WCG and others scattered throughout all the different groups, including yours. And that is the reason your name has come up. Who else would have the leadership and authority capable of bringing us all together? Many of those that started their own churches truly believed they had to in order to obey God properly. Others were perhaps power hungry and/or self-righteous. But amongst them all are those that are true followers of God and His word-and perhaps they are the ones Christ meant when he said ‘Many are called but few are chosen.’ We should all be together!"

COMMENT: Sir, do you not realize what you have said? You plainly believe that some of "God’s ELECT" ARE IN OTHER GROUPS, INCLUDING MINE! What if YOU were one of those? What if it were some OTHER person writing to me anonymously, and admitting he or she believed some of the "Elect" were in these other groups? They would mean YOU and your family, would they not? And they would be RIGHT! You admit then, without realizing it, that those who had the courage to leave an apostate group are still part of God’s elect! The gentleman does not realize that God’s people are in VOLUNTARY association with this or that group, depending upon their attraction to one leader or another, and their rejection of another. I could not agree more that the true church, composed of thousands of scattered brethren, now associated with over two hundred different groups, should be together. I also agree that thousands of God’s "elect" are involved with many different organizations.

He continues, "But who is powerful enough? Who has the leadership ability, the charisma, the knowledge, the background, the authority? Who is there capable of filling Mr. Armstrong’s shoes? Which evangelist could you suggest? Who would the body of Christ follow at this point? None of the strong leaders who have created Global, Living, United, etc. seem the right kind of man. And all the leadership at Pasadena and most of the pastors are sadly blinded to the truth, so we can’t rely on them!"

COMMENT: Only God is powerful enough. Only Christ has the leadership ability, the charisma, the knowledge, the background, and the authority. The gentleman is still looking for a MAN to follow; hoping some MAN will come back and somehow oust all the leadership of the WCG in Pasadena, and "put humpty dumpty together again." But this is a vain hope. It will never happen.

He continues, "A number of us are wondering if God won’t use you to re-unite these failing churches of God. Jesus said He would build His church — not churches. We believe we are that church. We believe you might be the next apostle to guide that church into whatever the future has in store — as one united group."

COMMENT: I think the leaders of the various organizations would take issue with his assertion that they are "failing." At least two of them that I know of (and I spend absolutely no time investigating them) seem to be trying to do a work. Again, he fails to see that the very meaning of the word "ekklezia" or :"church" means "called out ones" and does not refer to a man-made corporation. To which "church" did Abraham belong? What about Isaac, and Jacob? Which church did Isaiah, or Jeremiah, or Ezekiel organize? To which "church" did the Ethiopian eunuch belong? Where were his loyalties, as he made his way back to Ethiopia with the scroll of Isaiah? For centuries and centuries, there was no single "organization" under the leadership of a single man which comprised the "true church of God." There is no proof whatsoever that the members under Paul in Rome knew, or had any political or social relationships with the converts in Babylon under Peter. Paul and Barnabus split up. We hear nothing further from Barnabus. Yet, this does not mean he had no converts. History indicates Paul may have preached in Glastonbury, Scotland; that there were converts in the British Isles during his day. To which "church" did they belong?

If they were baptized and if they received God’s Holy Spirit, then they were members of the "ekklezia" or the "group of called-out ones" which Christ said He would build! But they were never members of the same political or man-made organization.

Now, THINK: Mr. Raymond Cole, who, along with my late brother, Richard David Armstrong, was one of the four pioneer students at Ambassador College commencing in 1947, is no longer alive. In the early 1970's, Mr. Cole left the WCG to form a different corporation, "The Church of God, The Eternal." He refused to accept certain doctrinal revisions which were made in Pasadena. Yet, he possessed all those truths and doctrines which my father and I, together with all the other pioneer students, now evangelists, had proclaimed for decades. It was during the 1950's and 1960's that the church grew exponentially! Thousands were baptized; three colleges and three elementary and high schools were raised up, huge festival facilities erected. I have pointed out that up until the year my mother died, (1968), God’s church grew by leaps and bounds. In other words, it grew and grew, IN SPITE OF believing in a few erroneous doctrines. Mr. Cole clung to those same doctrines, and refused to accept doctrinal change. Now, consider: Mr. Cole preached the precise doctrines my father and I, and all the other evangelists preached for DECADES. Suppose a completely unconverted person heard Mr. Cole’s sermons, and asked to be baptized. Suppose Mr. Cole then baptized his new convert. Would God have given such a person His Holy Spirit?

To say no would negate the thousands of conversions which occurred from the early 1950's through the 1960s! But would such a convert then be a MEMBER OF GOD’S TRUE CHURCH? To say no would be to reject the converts of Barnabus, or Peter, or Paul, or Timothy; to reject the conversion of the Ethiopian eunuch! Remember, you are PUT INTO the spiritual body of Christ by the miracle of conversion and receiving the Holy Spirit, NOT by the process of "joining" a man-made corporation! Most definitely, any converts who came to Christ under the preaching of Mr. Cole were (and are) MEMBERS OF THE BODY OF CHRIST!

For decades, I was the director of the "foreign work" of the WCG and Ambassador Colleges. We established offices, formed "associations" and "societies" and "corporations" in places all over the globe. In The Philippines, we were officially registered as "The Ambassador College Agency." In Mexico, as "Ambassador, Instituto Educativa y Cultura S.A.," or "Ambassador, an educative and cultural institution, "Sociadad Anonima," or "anonymous society," their term for a legal corporation. We had to operate our French office in Switzerland, because organizing in mostly Catholic France was virtually impossible. Like the converts of old, on the day of Pentecost in 31AD, the converts in Germany, France, Italy, Spain, the Philippines, and Canada could not converse together. They "belonged" to different political, legal entities in different nations. Yet, they were all MEMBERS OF GOD’S TRUE CHURCH! How? Because they were attached to, or a part of a headquarters in Pasadena? No. Their headquarters facilities were in Geneva, or Dusseldorf, or Manila! Were they members of a California corporation? Absolutely not. They were members of a body formed in their own nation, under different names (because the word "church" was like a red flag in front of a bull to many in predominantly Catholic countries), with leaders who spoke their languages. They had read, or heard the truth in Spanish, German, French, Italian, or another language.

Yet, because they responded to the truth, were converted, baptized, and had the laying on of hands to receive God’s Holy Spirit, they were PUT INTO the spiritual organism that is the body of Christ! They did not "join" the "Worldwide Church of God," and their only connection to it was mental and spiritual, not legal or political.

This gentleman, like so many others, sees "the church" as a corporate body which is legally constituted in the State of California. He fails to see it as a spiritual organism, where each member, of whatever race, language, color, or origin, is connected directly to CHRIST, and only VOLUNTARILY associates with this or that man-made organization. He fails to grasp the concept of personal sovereignty, and individual accountability, where each individual will answer for HIMSELF to God (1 Corinthians 7:16; Ezekiel 14:18; Ezekiel 18th chapter).

He also believes that the church must be "under an apostle." But the last apostle died when John or Paul died. Paul clearly said an apostle (which merely meant "one sent") was one who "had seen Christ." My father would never have admitted that Andrew Dugger was "an apostle," and in his early years, refused any such title. Paul explains how he was called SEPARATELY from Peter and the others in Galatians, and goes to great pains to insure that no-one thought him "Peter’s messenger boy" who was part of a man-made hierarchy.

He continues, "I heard that you said in a letter after the Sept. 11 tragedies that we must stop all this pettiness and unite. YES!! We must! But how? Your father had a dream that a great tree would grow in Texas and all true Christians would gather under it. He didn’t put much stock in it then but now we are wondering.?

"When the leadership...[of the WCG] releases the reins and the WCG is floundering, who else but you could rise up amongst us and lead us? How, I don’t know but I trust God to show you the way. I’m only planting the seed. Others feel the same...maybe it’s time, Mr. Armstrong, to take the leadership that was originally ordained of God...would it be so strange a thing if you were to become the leader of the RE-UNITED WCG? What about it? Will you ask God to show you the way if this is His will?"

In his PS, he said, "And one other thing. We that are faithful to the WCG have resisted joining or even attending any of the splinter groups. How could we accept a leader who was not a MEMBER OF THE WCG? ...I am not the only one who has been inspired to remember you at this time!"

COMMENT: This is an amazing mind set. A very sincere, well-intentioned, but bewildered gentleman, who says his organization to which he is very loyal is floundering; its leaders are "running this ship into the ground," and "seem about to jump overboard." Perhaps he should beat them to the punch. Perhaps he should take a long, hard look at the lifeboat which is alongside, and decide to accept the offer God has held out to him. Perhaps he should exercise his own personal sovereignty; his own volition; make his own decision, just as he very probably did long, long ago, when he had to make the decision to accept God’s truth in the first place.

He clings to the vain hope that someone (he hopes it will be me) will rise up "AMONG US" meaning WITHIN THE WCG and reorganize them, calling all the other groups together. He is sincere. He is honest in his convictions. But he is sincerely and honestly mistaken. Such could never occur. I would strongly suggest that he, and any other interested persons reading this, write or call for my sermon tapes "For the Searchers," and "The Old Hickory Flute."
